  • May 21, 1991. Establishment of “Mortadel” company. The founder is Moscow State University graduate, Doctor of Economics, Nikolai Agurbash
  • 1992 – 1997. Even at the stage of its establishing “Mortadel” company proved itself as an intensively developing enterprise mostly focused not on the increase of production output but on improvement of products quality. By the middle of 90s “Mortadel” TM products was true deficit and the company had to solve the task to increase production volumes. A decision was taken to reinvest income in expansion of production which was successfully implemented with the opening of second production facility.   

  • 1998. The august crisis was an unexpected and an unpleasant surprise.   ñòàë íåîæèäàííûì è íåïðèÿòíûì ñþðïðèçîì. The sales dropped, high quality products could hardly compete with cheap, low quality sausages of  rivals.
  • Tens of companies and firms were not able to bear the crisis and left the market. “Mortadel” developed new strategy on the basis of unprecedented igh quality of products. Post-crisis years were the period when the company gained high recognition of customers by quitting trade-off of quality.

  • 1999. The efforts of the company in food production and food market saturation were appropriately recognized. By his order the President of Russian Federation awarded the president of “Mortadel” company with “For Merits to Motherland” medal.

  • 2000. The company restores  pre-depression levels of production.  

  • 2001. Beginning of the company advertising campaign. The first corporate slogan appears  :

  • 2002. Launch of 14-ton-per-day-output modern facility for production of sausages and wieners.

  • 2003. Construction of non-cooked smoked sausages production facility.

  • 2004. Commission of new culinary facility, multiple increase of half-cooked food production.

  • 2000 - 2005. «Mortadel» expands to regional market. The geography of deliveries is from Arkhangelsk to CIS countries.  Moscow region was fully brought under. The company starts active participating in prestigious Russian and international exhibitions such as “ProdExpo”, “World Food”, “InterFood” and “EcoProdExpo”.  Every exhibition brings new awards recognizing “Mortadel” TM products.   

  • 2006. “Mortadel” company started creation of its own raw-material base. Four piggeries of 48000 species total output have been built in  Vladimir region. Four more piggeries are planned to be built to reach 100000 species output. The final plan of pig breeding program allows to reach 300000 species livestock. 

  • 2007. Over 16 years “Mortadel” company has produce almost 300 thousand tons of products. To make it visual, it is: 120 goods trains 50 cars each or a 15 thousand truck column 450 kilometers long. If you divide this quantity of products by daily portion of meat consumption, “Mortadel” company has fed over 600 million people.

  • In terms of money the company has produced food of almost 2 billion dollars cost, having paid in Russian public treasury over 20 million dollars as charges and taxes.

  • Commission of new pelmeni production facility.

The future of the company is creation of large ultramodern holding including its own raw-material bases and well-developed company retail network for sales of final output.
